IT Project Manager (6 Months Contract)

Job Description

This is a 6 months contract position as an individual contributor to manage the project portfolio of Global IT through sound project management, change management & Lean methods, and to champion the advancement and use of Project Management methodologies. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project
  • Develop, maintain, and revise proposals for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing
  • Set and track project milestones; manage and account for unforeseen delays, realigns schedules and expectations as needed
  • Establish and implement project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports
  • Possess expert knowledge of common methods to define problems, identify gaps in performance, gather supporting data, design solutions, implement improvements, measure results, and sustain results
  • Responsible for leading cross functional teams to maintain a long-term commitment by evaluating probable financial and operational impact regarding process improvement opportunities
  • Responsible for increasing efficiency while minimizing cost and maximizing resource utilization through lean and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Apply project management methodologies and principles
  • Formulate and document comprehensive project plans from inception to delivery
  • Analyze current approaches to identify opportunities to improve speed and effectiveness of project execution, materials, sourcing, workflows, and costs. Propose/formulate improvement plans for the aforementioned
  • Design, improve, and document processes and workflow
  • Deliver presentations and effectively articulate pros and cons, facts and figures, and broad business topics to management, employees, peers, vendors and clients
  • Take lead on internal and external relationships to ensure consistent, timely and effective communication regarding IT project topics
  • Support new business initiatives and projects and contribute to review meetings and change process

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or comparable education. MBA is preferred

 

Experience

  • 7- 12 years of experience in IT or Project related positions in a regulated environment
  • Demonstrated experience in Project management, business process management for a global company
  • Experience working with counterparts in other countries is preferred

 

Skills

  • Demonstrated People skills, project management skills (both written and oral), process implementation skills, budgeting skills and analytical skills that demonstrate the ability to recognize when system or staff adjustments are needed
  • Familiarity with medical devices and regulations is preferred
  • Proficient at process mapping, flowcharting, database systems, Excel spreadsheet, and Microsoft Office
