More than 70 doctors and nurses from different regions in Germany and Austria will be attending the 3rd HOYA Cataract Forum, which is going to take place at the Heidelberg University on 30th and 31st January 2016. The objectives of this 1,5 day symposium is to provide the surgeons continuing professional course and practice trainings with wet-labs and dry-labs for both doctors and nurses in the cataract surgery. The courses will be held under the coordination of Prof. Gerd Auffarth from Heidelberg and Prof. Michael C. Knorz from Mannheim.
The intensive scientific program of the HOYA Cataract Forum includes an academic basic and a refresher training (KRC) for surgeons. The participants will have also the opportunity to discuss and have an update on the new techniques on cataract surgery like the laser systems. For the surgery staff, the symposium will have long sessions for practice trainings and the specialists will talk about how to deal with the patients for the cataract surgery. On the second day Prof. Auffarth will be talking about difficult cases and complications during cataract surgeries.
The HOYA Cataract Forum lectures and wet labs are recognised as advanced professional training for doctors by the Chamber of Physicians of the State of Baden-. Thus participants can collect 12 CME-points. Participants from other German states can submit the attendance certificates to the corresponding State Chamber of Physicians or another responsible body.
